The City Secretary’s Office was recognized at a July 6 City Council meeting for receiving the Municipal Clerk’s Office Achievement of Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Clerks Association.
To receive the award, an office must meet high standards in records management, professional development, transparency, innovation, administrative duties and other areas. Victoria is one of 44 cities in Texas to receive the award since the program was created in 2020.
“We will continue looking for ways to improve the quality of our service so that we can exceed our own expectations and those of our customers,” said City Secretary April Hilbrich.
In the category of innovation, the City Secretary’s Office highlighted the City’s transition to the iCompass agenda software in December 2019, which provided an easy-to-navigate platform for meeting agendas and other documents.
“The transition to iCompass helped us to improve our accessibility and transparency, which is an important goal for our office and for the City of Victoria,” Hilbrich said.
