Big changes are coming to The Texas Zoo, and residents will have a say in what those changes may look like.
The Texas Zoo is launching a community input survey as part of its master planning process. The master plan will provide the zoo with a long-term growth strategy that reflects what Victoria residents want from their zoo.
A zoo for Victoria
The master plan is funded in part by federal American Rescue Plan Act funding allocated to the zoo by the City of Victoria. The funding allocation is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen collaboration between The Texas Zoo and the City of Victoria.
“The Texas Zoo is a great asset for our community and our region,” said City Manager Jesús A. Garza. “We hope that residents will take this opportunity to get involved and contribute to the master planning process.”
Take the survey
The community input survey is designed to collect information about residents’ priorities for the zoo, including why they visit the zoo and which features or functions of the zoo they consider to be the most important.

What’s next
The Texas Zoo will host two community meetings next year to gather additional input.
The master plan is expected to be adopted in early 2024.
