City of Victoria Communications & Public Affairs Director Ashley Strevel recently earned a certification from the Public Relations Society of America’s Executive Leadership Certificate Program. Completion of this five-week program allowed communications and public relations professionals to expand their knowledge of how to conduct and implement strategic plans; they also learn budgeting, forecasting, resource management and other related skills needed to lead with authenticity, emotional intelligence and strong ethics. Strevel joined the City in 2019 with 10 years of experience in marketing and communications. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2012 from Texas A&M University and, in 2021, earned her Certified Public Communicator designation from Texas Christian University’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication: Strategic Communication division.
