In 2013, the Victoria Police Department proudly unveiled a new paint and graphics design for patrol vehicles. Several vehicles are already on the road sporting a traditional black and white design. The final design was decided upon after lengthy planning, research, and input from officers from all areas of the department.
The new design will be applied to newly acquired vehicles and the old design will be phased out over a period of time as older cars are retired. The black and white design will be used on Chevrolet Tahoe police package sport utility vehicles and Ford Crown Victoria police package vehicles. Due to the gradual phase out period, the public will continue to see the previous design which features an all white car with blue, black, and grey graphics for the next four years.
The two-tone traditional look will make the vehicles more readily identifiable as a Victoria Police Department vehicle, which is vital for officer safety as well as public safety.
