[ARCHIVED] Crime analyst earns statewide recognition

Erin Gabrysch

Victoria Police Department Crime Analyst Erin Gabrysch received honorable mentions for the Texas Law Enforcement Analyst Network’s Member of the Year and Analytical Product Award recognitions. The Member of the Year designation recognizes crime analysts who go above and beyond in the field of analysis and make significant contributions to the profession. The Analytical Product Award recognizes crime analysts who produce a report or other product that was used for problem-solving, training, technical assistance, identification, arrest or prosecution. Gabrysch analyzes crime data to produce daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly crime reports that include information on types, frequency and locations of criminal activity. This data helps police department personnel and City leaders to understand patterns of criminal activity in Victoria, and it is used by patrol and investigative supervisors in their daily deployment of police resources. Gabrysch began working for the Victoria Police Department in June 2019. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences and her master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Houston-Victoria.
