Award winners announced for Christmas Parade of Lights

PHOTO #2: Con Metal Contractors won the Spirit of Christmas award during the Christmas Parade of Lights on Dec. 2 in downtown Victoria.

The City of Victoria is recognizing local organizations that went above and beyond to bring Christmas cheer to downtown Victoria during the Christmas Parade of Lights.

About 120 organizations participated in the parade Dec. 2. Awards were given to the following entries:

  • Lighted parade float pulled by a lighted truck with a lighted cross and TV playing Joy to the WorldMost Festive – Riverside Church (Where People Grow) 
  • Best Use of Lights – Vitality Court Assisted Living 
  • Spirit of Christmas – Con Metal Contractors
  • Most Use of Lights – Hlavinka Equipment
  • Best Sounding Middle School Band – STEM Middle School Viper Band
  • Best Sounding High School Band – Victoria West High School Band 
  • Best Car/Motorcycle Club – Stylistics Car Club

The live broadcast of the parade is available on YouTube at Victoria Texas Videos. The parade will also be broadcast on TV15 (channels 15 and 115 or online at www.victoriatx.gov/tv15) leading up to Christmas.
