Parts of Riverside Park reopen; some areas remain closed

The City of Victoria Parks & Recreation has reopened some areas in and around Riverside Park as the Guadalupe River begins to return to its normal level.

The following areas have reopened:

  • Red River Street
  • Bluff Street
  • RV Park
  • McCright Drive between the Memorial Rose Garden and Riverside Golf Course

Map of Riverside Park with closed areas markedThe following areas are still closed to vehicles and pedestrians:

  • McCright Drive between its north and south intersections with Memorial Drive (including Fox’s Bend) 
  • Grover’s Bend (including Pebble Beach)
  • The boat ramp
  • John F. Lee Drive
  • Young Drive (behind The Texas Zoo)

Parks & Recreation staff will continue to monitor the river level and will reopen the rest of the park when it is safe to do so. Residents should not attempt to enter barricaded areas.
