City of Victoria Economic Development director completes training

City of Victoria Economic Development Director Danielle Williams recently completed Year 1 of the Texas Community Development Institute (CDI Texas), a three-year program designed to provide practical, interactive, and comprehensive training to meet the needs of economic and community development professionals. Williams attended a training session March 6-9 at Lone Star College System in The Woodlands, where she and other attendees learned about economic development practices and strategies from instructors from across the country. The comprehensive program curriculum designed to meet the increasing challenges facing community developers in today’s fast-paced society, and the program is applicable for community leaders from towns and cities of all sizes. Williams became the City’s first director of Economic Development in January 2022. She previously served as the executive director of the Victoria Main Street Program and as assistant director of Parks & Recreation. She earned her bachelor’s degree in recreation from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
