Local nonprofits that serve low- to moderate-income residents are invited to apply for grant funding through the Community Development Block Grant program administered by the City of Victoria Development Services.
The CDBG program is federally funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. CDBG funds must be used for community development and elimination of poverty in qualifying census tracts or otherwise benefit residents who qualify as low- to moderate-income as defined by the HUD.
Applications will open April 3 for the 2023-2024 Community Development Block Grant Public Service Agency and Public Facility grants.
Application forms will be available starting March 31 at the Development Services Planning office, 700 Main Center, Suite 128, and online at www.victoriatx.gov/cdbg.
Development Services will host a workshop 10-11 a.m. March 9 at 700 Main Center, conference room 205, to provide information and guidance to interested nonprofits. Attendance at the workshop is mandatory for any nonprofit seeking funds.
Completed applications may be turned in to the Planning office or emailed to zwendel@victoriatx.gov.
The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. May 1.
