Assistant Chief - Roy Boyd

Roy Boyd began his career with the Victoria Police Department in January of 1994.  He was hired as a civilian employee, then transferred to Patrol as an officer.  He has served in the Special Crimes Unit, Juvenile Investigations, and Training.   He has been a member of the SWAT Entry and Sniper teams.  He was the recipient of the Sunrise Rotary Club Peace Officer of the Year award in 2002 and 2006.  He served on the Board of Directors for Hope of South Texas and was elected to the Victoria United Way Board of Directors in 2009.

Assistant Chief Boyd is a graduate the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) at Sam Houston State University.  He has completed the Command Staff Leadership Series at Sam Houston State University, and graduated from the 233rd session of the FBI National Academy, in Quantico, Virginia in 2008.

He holds a Masters Peace Officers Certificate with TCLEOSE and is a TCLEOSE instructor and firearms instructor.
