As the Deputy Chief of the Support Bureau, he was in command of the Jail Division, the Training Division and the Emergency Operations Division. He also had command over Counter Terrorism, Port of Long Beach Security and Long Beach Airport Security.
Chief Craig was the President of the Police Athletic League Board of Directors and has been past President of the Long Beach Police Command Officers Association. He was a board member for Family Service, a Long Beach non-profit organization. He was also the Long Beach Police Department representative on several Counter Terrorism Committees to include the Los Angeles/Long Beach Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Working Group, Surface Transportation Security Committee, and the Area Maritime Security Committee (AMSC).
Chief Craig was born and raised in Long Beach and is a graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1979. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Long Beach City College in Administration of Justice, a Bachelors Degree from University of Phoenix in Business Management and a Masters Degree from University of Phoenix in Organizational Management. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, Class 196 and from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government State and Local Government Program.
On August 15, 2011, Chief Craig began his service with the Victoria Police Department as Chief of Police.
Chief Craig is married and together with his wife, they have five children. He enjoys playing softball and golf, and spending time with his family. |
