Victoria Police Department

Crime Scene Unit

The Crime Scene Unit is made up of 3 civilian technicians and 1 civilian supervisor under the direction of an Investigations Lieutenant.  Our duties in this department include the following:

  • Maintain and secure all evidence and found property that comes through the Victoria Police Department.
  • Crime Scene processing.
  • Attend all autopsies
  • In house processing of evidence in our lab.
  • Organize and present programs for the local Civilian Police Academy as well as in house training.

Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm.

FINGERPRINTING

Hours:
Wednesday and Friday       1pm to 3pm

Price:
$5.00 for first card and $2.00 for each additional card (Most requestors will have their own cards they will want you to use, and you should always ask.  However if they do not supply you with a card we do have one available.)

  • Report to the VPD Records Section on the 1st Floor of City Hall to pay for fingerprinting.
  • Records will direct you to the Crime Scene Unit for printing.
  • You must show a valid picture ID to be fingerprinted.
 

PROPERTY RECOVERY

Crime Scene Unit is a 24-hour on call unit and we may not always be available in the office.  Please call before coming.  When picking up property, you must produce a valid picture ID.
