The Investigations Division of the Victoria Police Department has an authorized strength of 33 licensed personnel which include the Captain, two Lieutenants and three Sergeants. Eight civilian personnel are also assigned to the division. The Investigations Division
is responsible for the follow-up investigation of all Class I and Class II crimes assigned and provides a liaison with the various courts and the District Attorney.

Special Assignment Section
The Special Assignment Lieutenant acts as the District Attorney Liaison by ensuring
that the criminal cases to be submitted to the District Attorney's Office are complete and timely. This Lieutenant is also responsible for the following units within the Special Assignment Section:
