The Building of Our Police Department

 

Construction on our Police Department building began in the summer of 1965.  This project included a new City Hall and Municipal Court.  Here are some photos of the construction.

Chief John Guseman wrote in the 1966 Victoria Police Department Annual Report:

"We were fortunate to have moved into the new Public Safety Building September 20, 1966, and found it to be adequate for our purposes.  We are very grateful to the City Manager, Mayor, Council, and the people of Victoria for making these facilities available.  The building is as near perfect for our purposes as is humanly possible to design."
