Location - Nestled beside the meandering Guadalupe River, the City of Victoria is located in south central Texas just 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. Known as the "Crossroads of South Texas", three major highways intersect in Victoria: U.S. Highways 59, 77 and 87. Major cities such as Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi are within a two hour drive.
The City of Victoria, located near the geographic center of Victoria County, is the county seat. It is the only incorporated area within Victoria County and serves as a regional center for shopping, medical, business, educational, and entertainment services.
