Originally named Friendly Neighborhood Park, it was renamed in 1987 to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.  It was purchased from Victoria County in 1989 for $10.00.  This park is one of the more popular parks in the city, featuring a new playground (2000), basketball court, lighted pavilion and sidewalks.  Situated on the corner of Callis and Pleasant Green, this park is used by many area residents for Bar-B-Que's and gatherings.
