Library encourages Cancer Awareness

(VICTORIA, TEXAS) During April, the Victoria Public Library encourages the public to take advantage of new resources on cancer awareness. Benefiting from a recent collaboration between the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the American Library Association, the Library has for in-house use two LIVESTRONG Survivor Notebooks. The LIVESTRONG Survivorship Notebooks are a free resource and are designed to help cancer survivors, their families and caregivers organize, keep and access important information related to their cancer experiences.

This display will coincide with the PBS documentary “The Truth about Cancer”, written, produced, and directed by award-winning filmmaker Linda Garmon which airs April 16. The documentary features poignant stories of patients battling the disease and includes a 30-minute panel discussion entitled Take One Step: A Conversation About Cancer with Linda Ellerbee, news journalist and breast cancer survivor.    For more information contact the Victoria Public Library 302 N. Main Victoria, TX 77901.
