Constitution Street Closed From Main Street

to Liberty Street For Two Weeks.

(VICTORIA, TEXAS) The City will close Constitution Street from Main Street to Liberty Street to thru-traffic only on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 for final paving. Constitution Street is a concrete street with an asphalt topping. The construction should take approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

All businesses and parking lots in the construction zone will remain accessible via alternate routes. On-street parking will be prohibited in the work zone.

To work safely and efficiently, the intersection of Liberty Street and Constitution Street will be completely closed for short periods.  The intersections will reopen as soon as the work zone is clear.

Although the City has taken measures to reduce the inconvenience to the public, drivers can expect major delays in the work zone and should use alternate routes to get around the work zone if possible.

This construction is part of the $2,913,062 Downtown Water and Sewer

Line Replacements (Phase I, Projects 1 & 2). The contractor is Triple B Services, LLP from Huffman, Texas.

For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 485-3340.
