(VICTORIA, TEXAS)On Wednesday April 16, Thursday April 17 and Friday April 18, southbound traffic on Ben Jordan Street will be narrowed to one lane as it approaches the Houston Highway, to install a new water line connection and wastewater connection to the underground utilities. No left turns onto the Houston Highway will be possible while this construction is underway. The construction will begin at 8:30 a.m. on April 16 and should be completed by 5:00 p.m. April 18, weather permitting.

All southbound traffic approaching the Ben Jordan/Houston Highway intersection will be reduced to one lane. Northbound traffic will not be affected. For the safety and convenience of all drivers, no left turns from Ben Jordan onto the Houston Highway will be allowed.

Drivers can expect major delays in the construction zone and should use alternative routes if at all possible. All businesses, restaurants and residences on Ben Jordan and Houston Highway will remain accessible.  Drivers should use alternate streets such as Ben Wilson or Laurent Street and avoid the use of residential streets for an alternate route.
