Victoria Public Library closing
for renovations May 15-19
(Victoria, Texas) Victoria Public Library will be closed May 15-19, for re-carpeting and rearrangement of the Library's collections and furniture. The layout of the whole building will be reset, updating and improving space-usage and the overall look and feel of the library. Enhancements from the new layout will include a well defined space for children's computers in the children's area, a quiet reading room for adults and an enlarged teen space.
This much needed work is a major step in the ongoing renovation of the library and will dramatically improve the interior, pulling together already completed elements of the renovation, including electrical, painting, lighting and masonry work.
Library materials will not be due during the time the library is closed, however,
books and materials may be returned to any of the Book Drops located in Victoria, including the one downtown on west side of the Library at 302 N. Main. Items that are not overdue can be renewed by calling 572-6660. To use the Library's online resources or to see pictures of the library renovations go to www.victoriapubliclibrary.org.
