City Terminates Stage I of Drought Contingency Plan
(VICTORIA, TEXAS) The City of Victoria is ending all drought contingency restrictions today.
Water levels in the Guadalupe River have increased recently and the flow on the Guadalupe River has remained consistently above normal throughout October 2012.
The City’s Drought Contingency Plan allows the City to terminate Stage I restrictions when the flow remains above normal for a period of 14 consecutive days. The “normal’ flow rate for each month of the year, which is based on historical flows, is provided in the City’s permit to divert surface water from the Guadalupe River that is issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Although the Stage I restrictions have been terminated, residents are encouraged to conserve water at all times.
