City Accepting HOT Fund Applications June 1-30, 2012
(VICTORIA, Texas)The City of Victoria is accepting applications from local organizations seeking Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Funds from June 1 to June 30, 2012. Under a State of Texas law, the City of Victoria collects a Hotel Occupancy Tax from hotels, bed & breakfasts and other lodging facilities. The revenues collected may only be used to promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry.
Priority will be given to applicants based on their ability to generate overnight visitors to Victoria. Only those events and programs that generate meaningful hotel night activity will be eligible to receive hotel occupancy tax funds.
All requests for funds must be submitted in writing and accompanied by the official application by June 30, 2012 to:

Applications will be reviewed by the HOT Funds Committee in July and recommendations will be made to the City Council in August. The City Council will make final decisions on funding.
Applications and more details on criteria, guidelines and eligibility will be available on the City of Victoria website at www.victoriatx.org beginning June 1, 2012.
Informational sessions about the HOT Funds application process will be held at 10 am on both June 13 and June 20 at 700 Main Center, Room 204.
