Red River Street Closed to Through Traffic Beginning April 5

(VICTORIA, TEXAS) Beginning on Tuesday, April, 5, 2011, the City will close Red River Street to through traffic between Ben Wilson Street and Catalpa Street for waterline and sewer line construction. Construction is expected to take approximately six (6) weeks, weather permitting.

Access to Red River Street is available via Del Papa Street, Catalpa Street, Cherry Street and Sam Houston Drive. All businesses and parking lots in the work zone will remain accessible via alternate routes.

The City and contractor are working to reduce public inconvenience; however, drivers may experience delays in this area. Alternate routes are suggested when possible.

This construction is part of the $2,149,467.00 Red River Street Sanitary Sewer and Rehabilitation/Overlay Project (Sam Houston Dr. to Ben Jordan St.).  The contractor performing the work is Lester Contracting, Inc. from Port Lavaca, Texas.
