Meter Reader – Utility Billing Office

Full-time position (50000400)

$10.06/hour

Position May Close Without Prior Notice

Reads, installs and maintains water meters. Ability to read work orders and maps in order to find meter locations. Ability to perform basic math functions to determine amount of water used. Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools such as shovels, meter wrenches and meter keys. High school diploma or equivalent required. Six months prior experience preferred. Valid Texas driver’s license with driving record that meets City guidelines.

Police Patrol Officer - Police Department

Full-time position (50000899)

$19.49/hour, licensed

May close without prior notice

Patrols the City and responds to emergency and non-emergency requests and enforces all City ordinances and state and federal laws. Must be 21 yrs of age or over (18 yrs with 60 academic semester hours, college credit required). H/S diploma or GED & 12 hours of college credit; or GED & two years of active military service with honorable discharge. Successful completion of the Victoria Police Department hiring process. Must be currently certified as a TCLEOSE Peace Officer. Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license with driving record that meets City guidelines. A review of your credit report is required and must meet City guidelines. To apply for this position, you must complete a City of Victoria Police Department application packet (which includes the City of Victoria standard application plus additional information which is required for consideration for any police department position). Packets can be downloaded or are available from the Human Resources Office 700 Main Center, Suite 101, Victoria Tx 77901. This position is considered Essential Personnel during an emergency situation. All essential employees are required to report for duty or to be available for duty during an emergency situation.
