Station #4 on C-Shift (23 January 2014) did a wonderful job of cooking ribs, sausage, and the fixings for the Astros Caravan.  They fed about 25 people and everyone really enjoyed the hospitality and the food.  The professional baseball players - JR Richard, Marc Krauss, Chris Carter, and Milo Hamilton - were really taken back by their generosity and the crew represented the department very well.  They will never forget the Victoria Fire Department or the City of Victoria.  Thanks to the cooks and the crew – Edwin Ellis, David Pillar, Allen LaFlamme, Lonnie Drost, Jeremy DeDear, Jonathan Martin, Brad Franklin, and Roger Hempel.   Everyone had a great time.

You may have noticed a new VFD vehicle responding to EMS calls recently.  SV-1 was added to the fleet as a

First Responder unit to assist the ambulance on critical medical calls. SV-1 is housed at Station #1 and

responds in place of Quint 1 on the medical calls as it is much easier to maneuver and a more cost effective vehicle

to operate.
