Target Neighborhood Program

The Target Neighborhood Program is a component of the City of Victoria’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Each year, a new neighborhood is selected to participate in the program. The program focuses community development funding on improving housing, economic opportunity, and the overall living environment in specific low- and moderate-income areas.  This approach is designed to increase the effectiveness of our CDBG program by targeting the investment of CDBG funds through a comprehensive strategy.

The Target Neighborhood Program began in 1998 and since then six neighborhoods have participated:

  • 1998-2001     Will Rogers / Queen City
  • 2001-2004     Silver City
  • 2004-2006     Meadowview/ Mayfair
  • 2006-2007     Slotnick Addition
  • 2007-2008     Eastside Addition
  • 2008-2009     Lone Tree Acres
  • 2009-2010     King/ Oliver Addition
