NEWS - In an effort to improve communication and coordination, the Victoria Fire Marshal's Office has a new email address.  FMO@victoriatx.org shall be used to submit yellow and red tag notices on fire protection systems.

The City of Victoria has adopted the 2015 International Code Series, including the International Fire Code, including local amendments.  These codes went into effect on December 26, 2015.  If you have any questions, please call us at 361-485-3460.  

The Victoria Fire Marshal's Office Permit Fees have changed effective September 30, 2015.  Click here for more information.

The Victoria Fire Marshal's Office will now require a permit application for all submittals. 

The Mission of the Victoria Fire Marshal's Office is To Excel in Fire Prevention, Education, and Investigations.

The Victoria Fire Marshal's Office strives to meet the changing needs of our community by providing a proactive and cooperative approach to fire protection and safety by maintaining a high level of expertise and focusing on the professional development of our personnel.

The Victoria Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for fire prevention and investigation within the City of Victoria.  Fire prevention includes inspections, plan reviews, public education, and code enforcement.  The Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for determining the origin and cause of fires within the city limits.  Investigator/ Inspectors are multi-disciplined, holding certifications as police officers, emergency medical technicians, fire inspectors, firefighters, and investigators.   The administrative assistant assigned to the Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for a variety of jobs including inventory, software evaluation, scheduling, permit processing and public education.

In addition, the Fire Marshal, Tom Legler, is now a designated Fire Marshal through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).  The CPSE offers an internationally recognized third party verification of professional competence in fire and emergency services.  There are approximately 104 Fire Marshals that have completed the CPSE professional credentialing process.
