Please review the following information for successful collection of non-metal storm debris caused by Hurricane Harvey for City of Victoria residents.
  • Collection of non-metal storm debris began Monday, October, 9, 2017.

  • There is no formal schedule per area for collection of non-metal storm debris. We recommend that residents place their non-metal storm debris at the curb as soon as possible so they do not miss collection. Collection trucks are working in all areas of the city at the same time.

  • Non-metal debris includes, but is not limited to, material such as wood fencing, mattresses, clothes, furniture, sheet rock, etc.

  • Place non-metal storm debris at the curb. Do NOT place debris in the street. Non-metal storm debris will not be collected from private property.

  • If your tree limbs were successfully collected during the first pass without issue, we recommend that residents place non-metal storm debris in the same location.
  • Do NOT place non-metal storm debris under low hanging tree limbs or electric/telephone wires.

  • Non-metal storm debris must be placed at least 5 feet away from all obstacles including city issued garbage/recycle carts, water meters, fire hydrants, vehicles, trees, power poles, telephone junctions, fences, guide wires and other obstacles that may prevent collection.

  • Residents who live on dead end streets or in cul-de-sacs may notice their collection will occur at a different time than neighbors outside of dead ends or cul-de-sacs. Please be patient as smaller trucks are needed to access non-metal storm debris in these tight spaces.

  • Non-metal storm debris in plastic bags will not be collected.

  • Non-metal debris must be separated from tree limbs and metal debris in order to be collected.

  • All debris (tree limbs, non-metal, and metal) must be no longer than 10 feet in length.

  • Tires will NOT be collected as non-metal storm debris.

  • Household hazardous waste (HHW) must be collected through the HHW At-Your-Door program. Hazardous waste includes items such as, but not limited to, televisions, computer monitors, consumer electronics containing circuit boards, batteries, cleaning agents, used motor oil, and paint. Please call 1-800-449-7587 to schedule an HHW collection.

  • After all non-metal debris has been collected, a second pass for tree limbs will be made. Please remember that green tree limbs will NOT be collected as storm debris.
