City of Victoria Holiday Happenings

There are so many holiday happenings this Christmas season in our beautiful City. Be sure to take some time to enjoy the festivities with your family and friends!

Friday, Dec.15
Grand Ol' Christmas with Blue Water Highway
7:30-12:30, Leo J. Welder Center, 214 N. Main Street
Christmas variety show featuring Will Hearn and the Blue Water Highway Band.  Performed with the concept of a 1940's live radio broadcast, complete with a traditional big band and gospel choir.

S at Greener Acres Free Range Junk'n, 102 Wearden Drive
5-10 pm Friday, Dec. 15
9 am-3 pm Saturday, Dec. 16

Holiday lights will adorn the acres and vendors' booths. Polar Express will be playing in the barn at dark. Bring your chairs, blankets & your family & friends! Bring along that last minute holiday shopping list & shop from a variety of merchants! Free admission on Saturday.

Tuba Christmas Concerts
7:30 pm Friday, Dec. 15, Victoria Fine Arts Center, 1002 Sam Houston Dr.
10 am-1 pm Saturday, Dec. 16, Victoria Mall, 7802 N. Navarro

Performing will be tuba and euphonium members of the Crossroads Community Band, plus other musicians from the area. Anyone playing a tuba or euphonium can participate in the performance. Performers can register at 5 p.m. Friday at the Victoria Fine Arts Center prior to the performance. Rehearsal will begin at 5:45 p.m. The music list will include traditional Christmas songs.

Free Christmas Concert
7:30 pm, David Pozzi Fine Arts Center at St. Joseph High School, 1101 E. Red River

The Toast of the Coast Barbershop Chorus will be giving a free Christmas Concert. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted on behalf of the STJ Fine Arts Department.

Christmas Caroling Hayride
6-8 pm, Friday, December 15, Victoria Church of the Nazarene, 1105 Edinburgh St.
Join us for Christmas caroling, hayride and joyous fun! Caroling starts at Victoria Church of the Nazarene at 6pm.  The hayride will be driving through the church’s neighborhood.

Saturday, December 16
Son Valley Ranch Trade Days
9 am, Son Valley Ranch Trade Days, 8793 U.S. Highway 87 North
Come out to Son Valley Ranch Trade Days and enjoy local vendors showcasing crafts, wood work, herbs & plants, homemade items, cottage foods, direct sales with books, skincare, makeup, clothing, and home accents, local non-profit organizations for you to support and food to enjoy too! Family friendly with free parking and admission!

Pictures with Santa
11 am, Northside Ranch & Pet Center, 5705 N. Main St.
It's time for annual photos with Santa! Bring your pet or family by to take a holiday photo with Santa! Photos are free. Feel free to bring your own camera.

Santa Land
Noon- 5 pm, Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts, 214 N. Main St.
Games, fun, crafts and a photo with the Elf himself. $6 for children, $2 for adults.

Christmas Concert by the St. Romanos Chorale
3 pm, Incarnate Word Convent Chapel, 1101 N.E. Water St.
6:30 pm, following mass at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, 1309 E. Mesquite Lane
The St. Romanos Choral presents the spiritual orthodox Christian music of the Christmas season. The music, in both Byzantine and Slavonic styles, is sung accapella, predominately in English as well as in Greek, Arabic and Slavonic. Free of charge.

Paws ‘N Claws at the Texas Zoo
6- 9 pm, 110 Memorial Drive
Drop by the Texas Zoo to see Santa and Animals! Come sit with Santa, drink some hot cocoa, make a craft, bounce in the bounce house, encounter some really cool animals, and shop the general store for Christmas gifts!

Winter Wonderland
7:30 pm Saturday, Dec. 16 and 2 pm Sunday, Dec. 17, Leo Welder Center, 214 Main St.
A night event that celebrates the spirit of the holidays through song, reader’s theatre, and a special appearance by the elf himself. This Theatre Victoria original production warms the heart and is sure to turn any Scrooge into Father Christmas. Adults $12, seniors $10, students and children $8
